Doris Salcedo Studio. Bogotá, CO, 2001-2009.

Working as an architect at an artist studio could be quite a burden since there are no established laws for how an artwork should approximate to the real world. This has been fascinating as a way to use creativity into the most technical solutions. These are achievements that remain hidden, yet alive under the surface of the work. Metal, concrete, wax, rubber, resins, gypsum, wood, mold making, carpentry and crate building, welding, 3D digital modelling, photography are a few of the materials and techniques that this work comprises.

The first episode of Season 5 of "Art:21, Art in the Twenty First Century" has been released with a segment dedicated to Salcedo's work.  To watch the episode follow the links below.
